🎨 Monet's life (a brief summary)


🧒Childhood (1840~)

1840: Born in Paris, France

He moved to Le Havre, a port city in Normandy, during his childhood.

He showed talent for drawing from a young age, and became a local celebrity for his caricatures.



👨🎨The Young Artist's Challenge (1860s)

He attended art school in Paris, but rebelled against the academic education

Influenced by painters Boudin and Manet , he developed a new style of "painting light outdoors"

1874: Published "Impression, Sunrise" and became the origin of the name "Impressionism" (*born ironically)



🌿Exploring light and nature (1880s-1900s)

Established a method for painting the same motif at different times of day to capture the changes in natural light

Examples: "Rouen Cathedral", "Haystacks", "Poplar Trees"

He settled in Giverny and created a garden and a Japanese-style pond (a water lily pond).

In his later years, he became absorbed in his "Water Lilies" series and began to approach abstract painting.

Although he suffered from cataracts in his later years, he continued to create
